The project aims to create a rehabilitative healthcare environment that meets the operational requirements of modern medical systems while embodying a clear regional cultural identity and therapeutic qualities.
In terms of design methodology, the scheme adopts an overall strategy of “adapting to the terrain and clustered layout.” Responding to the area’s complex mountainous topography, the design avoids large-scale excavation and leveling. Instead, the overall building mass is broken down into a series of interconnected volumes arranged in stepped terraces along the contour lines, allowing the architectural ensemble to be naturally integrated into the hillside. The façades are articulated through continuous horizontal lines that visually echo the mountain ridgelines, while extended eaves and shading devices improve daylight modulation and enhance the building’s energy performance.
Through the integration of local vernacular residential elements with contemporary rehabilitative living needs, the project shapes a public healthcare space that is both culturally grounded and functionally efficient.
