This project leverages the geographical advantages of the old printing factory and aligns with the development needs of the cultural and creative industries to create a modern industrial hub integrating cultural innovation incubation, digital publishing, and full-media services.
The renovation covers the printing factory, editorial building, and public areas. While preserving the structural framework of the old factory, the design incorporates a perforated metal façade to shape a contemporary media city impression, fostering the coexistence of old and new and promoting the clustering of creative industries. A central courtyard serves as an urban living room and a transportation hub, while multi-mode atrium halls create public spaces rich in communication, art, and cultural ambiance.
Inspired by the "multi-perspective reading" approach found in newspapers and ancient book folding, the perforated panels symbolize the multi-layered dissemination of digital information, endowing the architecture with a modern character and shaping a cultural and creative space. Additionally, the project establishes an urban public cultural system, forming a metropolitan cultural center that integrates LOFT creative spaces, media platforms, and diverse cultural experiences. It fosters industrial chains in news and art, digital publishing, cultural creativity, art hotels, and full-media publishing, contributing to the cultural advancement of the city.
